COVID-19 measures Van der Valk Hotel Hamburg-Wittenburg

As a family business, Van der Valk gives the highest priority to the health, safety and well-being of our guests and employees and takes appropriate measures.

We naturally hope that this will help prevent further spread of the Corona virus. Our family business has been an important meeting place in our society for many decades. Many social networks are established within our branches and are maintained there.

Dear guests, we are aware that the state of mutual trust is preceded by a considerable degree of transparency and authenticity. We therefore take the initiative at this point and actively familiarize you with our travel guidelines and the temporarily adjusted closing and opening times in times of the Corona crisis.

Travel guidelines for guests with direct bookings (via the hotel's website, by telephone reservation or email) until July 31st, 2020:

  • Guests with a stay in the above mentioned period: if you have booked your hotel booking before March 16th, 2020, you will benefit from the option to rebook until the end 2020.
  • Guests with a stay in the above mentioned period with a non-refundable rate or who have already made a prepayment: you can receive a voucher in the amount of the deposit made in addition to the choice of a rebooking.
  • Guests who made a booking in the above mentioned period and have a ‘Holiday for two’-voucher: you can use the voucher for a new booking until December 19th, 2020.

Our call center is currently overloaded and we request that you contact us by email via: infocenter@alpincenter.com. Our call center is available on Mondays and Thursdays from 8:30 to 17:00, except on Whit Monday. Instead, we will be available on Tuesday 02.06.2020 at tel. +49 38852 234 0.

Due to the by COVID-19 limited travel options, we have discontinued the operation of the hotel as well as the gastronomic offer of Van der Valk Hotel Hamburg-Wittenburg until July 31st, 2020.

Can hotels be open?

Yes, according to government and state guidelines hotels are allowed to be open.

Can restaurants in hotels be open?

Yes, our restaurants and bars in the hotels are open.

Is it safe to visit a hotel?

The Van der Valk Hotels have set up all of their operations in accordance with the guidelines of the Robert Koch Institute. Van der Valk Hotels have taken all measures to minimize the risks.

Can I order catering services from my hotel room?

Yes, that is possible. All hotels offer room service.

Can I eat breakfast in the hotel?

Yes, of course you can have breakfast with us. We offer you the following breakfast options according to the guidelines of the respective federal state: the à la carte breakfast, breakfast in the hotel room, breakfast buffet with personal serving service or as a take-away meal. Per hotel the exact offer could be different.

Can I cancel or change my booking?

To reassure you in this uncertain time, Van der Valk Hotels offer you a free rebooking guarantee. In May you have the possibility to postpone your booking to another arrival date with us.

In the event that your new stay is more expensive than the original booking, you still have to pay the difference. Only valid for bookings made via www.vandervalk.de or our own hotel websites.

I have a cold or cough. Can I change my booking on the day of arrival?

Yes, you can rebook your booking to another arrival date through the reservations department until the day of arrival. In the event that your new stay is more expensive than the original booking, you have to pay the difference.

How do I know which facilities are open per hotel?

The leisure facilities in our hotels are limited, according to the guidelines of the respective federal state. Swimming pools and saunas are currently closed until further notice.

For other facilities, please contact our hotel staff.

Are pets allowed?

Please contact the hotel of your choice. Depending on the house rules, it can be regulated differently whether pets are allowed. They are generally not permitted in our gastronomic facilities.

Is it possible to rent a bike or e-bike from the hotel?

Yes, if the hotel has a bike rental, you can rent an e-bike or bike. Of course, these are cleaned and disinfected after each return.
